Will The Real Rob Liefeld Please Stand Up

November 7, 2007

For the last week a user named RobLiefeld has been haunting the social voting site Digg. In that short time frame he's written almost 80 comments (he even chimed in on this ComicScout post). All the comments vary from opinionated to controversial to idiotic. You can view them here.

Some of my favorites:

In a post titled Men held in Euro child porn probe, he reveals it's okay to look as long as you know you're not a child molester at heart:

I hope those scumbags get whats coming to them. I once found child porn on my computer and after looking through all the pics a few times for a couple of days, I found it truly disturbing. People who put this stuff on the Internet really need to be brought to justice. I applaud these investigators.

In a post entitled Firefox gets a tune-up, he reveals it's not the size of the web browser but the motion of the version number:

I'm sticking with Internet Explorer. I don't see what the mystic is for using Firefox. Firefox is only on version 2 while Internet Explorer is on version 7. If you do the math (7-2), Internet Explorer is 5 times faster than Firefox. Maybe when Firefox gets its act together and gets up to version 8, I'll give it a try. 'Nuff said...

In a post titled He lost his arms in Iraq, now he paints with his heart, he implies he can draw better than a man with no arms:

If only all our soldiers were like this -- simply inspiring! His artwork could use a little more refinement, but amazing none the less.

Is it the real Rob Liefeld or just an impostor?

Probably is Rob:

  • It seems he's intentionally baiting people
  • He's wantonly oblivious

Probably isn't Rob:

I've got to admit, I'm on the fence here. I'm 60% sure it's not the real Rob Liefeld. What do you think?

I'm convinced that he may or may not actually be Rob Liefeld. I do agree that Rob Liefeld can draw better than an armless Ron Paul.

I think he may have given himself away by referring to Youngblood as "Young Blood". But I wouldn't put it past him to not know the name of his own property.

I don't know, seems like Liefeld to me. We just haven't heard his political side before.

At this point I would like to quote an individual I saw at Comic Con: "Fuck Rob Liefield!"
