In the end it all makes sense (in a totally retarded sort of way). Out of place with the real-world logic and aesthetic of Ultimates 1 and 2, this mini did one thing right: hot pencil-on-paper Joe Mad action. And it introduced us to Angst-Boy (Hawkeye)!

There was only one way this could provide a satisfying ending... if Hawkeye would have killed all the Aveng... I'm sorry.. this is Ultimates, right? And then blown his own brains out. I would have jerked out a hot load all over this comic if Loeb would have gone in that direction.

But he didn't. And I still don't get why the sex tape was necessary. I mean... Tony Stark doesn't really need a reason to drink as long as he's awake.

Also, what was with the guest stars? Robo-Venom? Spider-man? Wolverine? Did any of them do anything?

And lastly, what was the point in having Cap dress up as Black Panther? Was there any specific reason that he HAD to go on the mission, other than just to be a dick to his ex-girlfriend?

But hey! It was better than the other fourteen issues! ... it was only four? are you sure?

I think there was a reason why this comic needed to exist, but I can think of simpler and shorter ways to kill the Scarlet Witch and piss off Magneto.

The reason for all the random shit...

Joe Mad: "Jeph, I want to draw Black Panther, and Yellow-Jacket, and Wolverine, and Valkyrie..."

Jeph: "Hmm... Valkyrie was sort of a joke character. Did you even read Millar's run?"

Joe Mad: "...and I want to draw Venom."

Jeph: "That's a bit of a stretch for this book. I suppose I could make him a robot."

Joe Mad: "...and I simply must, and this is a deal-breaker, I must draw a angst-ridden derivative manga character. We can just say it's Hawkeye."

    Jeph: "That's why you're a superstar, baby!"
